The Perfect Track For When You Drunk Dial Your Ex

Whitney Peyton premieres “Burden” video
Breakups are something we all experience in our lives and can be a great source of inspiration for artists. The roller coaster of emotions one goes through post-separation is exactly what Whitney Peyton wanted to convey in her song, “Burden,” which she is excited to be premiering the video for the track exclusively over at HipHopDX.
To truly encompass the emotions in the song, Whitney enlisted the help of friends, Ileigha Kohoutek and Hard Target. Whitney shared, “I knew I wanted someone else to sing the chorus so I had Ileigha come into the studio and she nailed it! Ileigha has an amazing voice so effortlessly, it’s really unbelievable. Knowing that having another rapper on the track would really complete it, I reached out to Hard Target. He’s put out emotional songs before and was perfect for the job. What an amazing combination of talents on this one. The emotion is there and everyone can relate to this feeling.”
Whitney is known for her light-hearted take on real-life experiences, making them relatable and fun for the listener. She’s able to take that easy going attitude while still being able to portray strong feelings through her words as Whitney describes the track as, “a relatable, un-sugar-coated love song that you can play in the background while you drunk dial your ex.”
“Burden” is off Whitney’s latest album, “Firecracker Pyro Edition,” that was released early last month. The record saw overwhelming success on multiple Billboard charts including  #3 Top New Artist Albums,  #9 Current Rap Albums Overall, #10 Record Label Independent, #11 Current R&B/Hip Hop Albums, #11 Album Core Genre R&B/Hip Hop, #45 Top Current Albums and #50 Albums by Strata.
Whitney recently wrapped up a 55 date tour and is planning to head back out early next year headlining in support of the record. “Firecracker Pyro Edition” is available now along with exclusive merchandise at Merchbucket.
